Walden Lofts sale completed; retail space giving way to more apartments


A Westerville investor has closed on its purchase of the Walden Lofts in Columbus, a solitary apartment building it had agreed to buy through a late-January sheriff’s auction. Windsor Cos. closed on the purchase Friday and already has decided to convert 4,800 square feet of vacant retail space on the ground floor into one-bedroom apartments. Windsor paid nearly $4.4 million for the 30-unit building in Italian Village and $230,000 for a neighboring 0.41-acre parcel slated for residential development.
